The Media & Humanities Pavilion is a 20,230 sq ft teaching facility for cultural history, music, sculpture, film editing, television & radio broadcast studios. The pavilion is also a framing element of the Ross School Master Plan: situated at the south end of an open courtyard as a reflection of the existing High School. At the core of the building lies the avid, a state-of-the-art film editing studio that supports the multi-media curriculum of the school.
This project is a hybrid composition of formal elements. Exterior cladding echoes the conventions of traditional, vernacular construction. Extensive glazing on the north and south facades reveals a sophisticated, sculptural interior.
